What is the Inner Core?
This is it, the deepest, and the hottest place on earth. The inner core is 5505 degrees Celsius! That is believed to have a similar temperature to the surface of the sun! Not only that but its pressure is EXTREMELY strong. Like the outer core, the inner core is also made up of nickel and iron. But it is believed that the remaining part of the core is made up of gold, platinum and other elements. The inner core is 1220 km thick which makes it the second smallest layer of earth.
